Lore & Background

King Randor is the son of King Miro and the husband of Queen Marlena of Eternia. He is the father of Prince Adam and Princess Adora, the latter of whom was abducted from Eternia as an infant by the evil warlock/warlord Hordak and his then apprentice Skeletor. In the 2002 series, Randor's forces faced the Great Unrest, during which Man-At-Arms's older brother Fisto allegedly deserted Randor's forces, causing a rift between the brothers. The Masters of the Universe Classics toyline states that Fisto was rendered amnesiac when helping King Miro during the Great Unrest. Randor is viewed by many as a wise and noble monarch, though his son Prince Adam is seen as fun-loving, lazy, and cowardly—an act to keep people from suspecting he is He-Man. Man-At-Arms, Orko, and the Sorceress are the only characters who share in the knowledge of Adam's secret, although it was heavily implied in the episode "The Rainbow Warrior" that Queen Marlena knew as well.
